I ordered a medium size for my 14lb. Chihuahua Terrier. Fit was good except for the front legs. I had to roll them up because her paws kept coming out and the elastic was not snug enough for her small legs, which is why i rated 4 out of 5 stars. Other than that, the sizing recommendations worked well. This jacket is very well made, from the stitching, to the zippers, and elastic draw strings to adjust the sizing. So far, we have gone on a 4 mile run in the rain and a 5 mile hike through mud and gravel.... wearing it the whole time! I could tell that she absolutely loves it because she doesn’t try to find somewhere to hide from the rain. To wash... simply wash by hand or throw in washer with a load and hang dry. The reflective part of the jacket did wear down a bit after the initial wash, but I’m thinking that is expected? Overall, it is still intact and serves its purpose. Same thing happened after a couple washes with her reflective harness.I went out in the rain with my dog, and he still was drenched. This is not a raincoat.I'm always on the look out for good quality outerwear for my dog, because we go on a lot of outdoor adventures, jogs and early morning walks. So, I'm very discerning when purchasing clothes for her. I looked at a lot of jackets including Hurrta and Ruffwear, but found this to be a quality and importantly fully waterproof coat for her. The only downside is the sizing isn't accurate. I purchased a medium in "aqua green" and based on the measurements it should have fit with a little room to spare, but it honestly barely fit on my dog (30lb Basenji-Mix Rescue).So, I ordered a large. I hope this will fair better fit wise. If so, it's got great all over body reflective stitching and isn't too heavy. In addition, it has great coverage. The only downside I see is that the sizes run REALLY small. So, that means bigger Puppers won't be able fit this, unfortunately.If it ends up being to big, well, it will simply be a shame. But I'll have to return it.My dog is 18lbs but long and skinny. According to the size chart she should be a small but I ordered a medium. The medium fits just right for back coverage. The girth is just a bit roomy but it has adjustable pull strings to adjust. The legs are not too long either. It’s a good fit with good coverage.So cute on my puppy! I originally ordered a medium and exchanged for a small fit perfect!The x-small chest is 17.7 inches, and the small is 21 something inches. That's a pretty big jump from size to size.. my dog walked straight out of the small and the x-small wouldn't zip up
