I choose this because the price is a lot cheaper for the size compare with others. I bought if for $59. But The plastic has some scuff, scratch, and it smell chemical which I think they use it to clean the plastic. I end up need to wash it with soap. I also found a sticker at the outside packaging with Amazon logo saying" this item has it's second life", which confirming my guess that it is used item.Purchased product and it was missing the door. Checked packaging because I thought this was incorrect… nope, door was not included.Update: Called Petmate and they apologized and are sending me the door without charge.Note: Amazon shipped an incomplete order. This was not PetMate’s fault.All the screws were about .5 inches too long. had to cut every one of them. what a pain in the butt, and Amazon sent it USPS so post office would not deliver because box was too big. Should have been sent via UPS.The kennel is a great size. It's durable and spacious for the animals. The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it really needs a handle so it would be easier to move.Although I won't travel with this, it is light-weight enough to carry. Assembly was easy and a nice overall carrier.I purchased this item because I often work with "community cats" and need to capture them for capture/neuter/release. I needed a square roomy cage that I could put food into and a stray animal could easily walk into it. The size is also the right size so I can get it into my car.have 25lb Maine Coon, he has plenty of room to get in and turn around. put together first night, and he went in and took a nap. would also be good for breeders if have a lot of kittens and momma kitty. took a little bit to assemble but was not complicated.On the outside, a normal kennel, nothing special but nothing wrong either. Fits two nine pound Havanese that like to cuddle at night. The inside makes you wonder if it was designed by people that have ever owned a dog. Or cleaned up after one. The floor is not smooth. There are dips and nooks and crannies and lots of places to have to try to clean when the inevitable accident, diarrrhea, or vomit happens. I can’t wait. Plus, who wants to lay on that? I make sure they have ample padding and in all fairness, they haven’t complained yet.Large crate great value and supplier was fantastic when the first one was damaged in transit to me. Would recommend very highly to use this company.We transported a 60 ib. buck Angora goat kid from Calgary to Toronto airport in this Pet Porter. First we ordered it from Amazon, because it was "airline approved". Delivered to an address in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta It arrived at the exact right time for the buck kid Alberto to be picked up at the farm, and transported to Calgary airport and then flown on to Pearson Airport in Toronto. He was so comfortable and secure in it, he wouldn't leave the Pet Porter until lured out by food and water at his new home. The Pet Porter was brilliant. HughJust bought another one of these. I bought an identical Petmate 13 years ago. Although the new one is the same shape, design and size, the quality is noticeably poorer. I was delighted with the strong rigidity of the old one (given to a relative for his new dog). Then I needed another one for a flight but mildly disappointed with the finish of the new one. I does the job but…. :(This crate is very sturdy and a good size for my dog (a German Shepherd mix). But I'd like it more if it had a couple of handles on it so I could move it more easily. It's quite heavy and bulky, so it's difficult to get in and out of my car. Also -- and I don't know if this would even be possible, so it's just a thought -- it would be nice if I could take it apart and put it back together more easily. When I put it in my SUV, it's so big, it blocks my back window. So I'd like to be able to transport it (I don't transport my dog in it; I use the crate when I arrive at dog competitions and workshops) in two halves. However, that would require a lot of undoing and redoing of the washers holding the halves together. It would be a nice feature for that to be an easier attachment process -- maybe an option would be to have just a few insertable pins instead of all those screws?I bought three of these for my new puppies and after setup I noticed two of the three has issues with the door lock mechanism. The first has smooth operation while the other two have to be forced up and down to ensure the door is closed properly, not a huge deal as the overall product is solid and I didn’t not want to fight up sending them back mostly because of their size. I would have rated this five stars across the board if it was not for this issue.
