I use it for my Yorkies to poop and pee in and the open top makes it very easy to change the piddle pads and saves my knees trying to change the pads .I wish I thought to look for an open top 2 years ago. It is easy to put together and has a top opening and the side opening. It is large enough for my parson jack russell to move around in and get comfortable. I have received several compliments on how nice this dog crate is.Our Boston, who is not even much of a chewer, already shredded of a lot of the wood in just 2 hours. This is a waste of an overly expensive $125 crate, plus a hazard to our $2000 dog.Adult dogs do very well in this and it's a good option for them, but the wood can be easily destroyed by puppies. We could tell it was soft so we only used this with older dogs and it works well. Good luck in your search.I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the kennel and it’s durability. Extremely easy to set up and fits perfect in the back of my small SUV. The wood grain around the top is very nice and does not distract from other furniture. The kennel opens from the top and makes it very easy to put your pet in from the top. This product will not disappoint you.This is an attractive crate for the price. This is my first crate, but cleaning it is easy with a door at the top and a slide-out bottom tray. For the tray, I’ve slid it out, scrubbed it down in the shower, and returned it once it was dried. Both doors (top and side) can clip close to ensure your pet stays safe inside. The clip is easy enough children can unlock the door if needed.However, the wood along the two smaller sides was a little warped, so they didn’t line up evenly, which made screwing it together a little tricky. The misalignment is also noticeable along the top corners so it doesn't look as nice as it might otherwise.I was hoping to use this as an enclosure for an older 11lb cat who has been having accidents around the house, but the crate isn’t quite big enough for a food dish AND a litter box (litter kept getting all over, contaminating the food and water dishes). I ended up splurging on a Laifug Wooden Cat House and that works much better for our needs (though it had it's own assembly issues).Got this for our 8 week old lab mix puppy; plenty of room for her now and hoping she won't outgrow it. I was able to assemble in under 30 minutes and the only tool required was the included allen wrench. t feels quite sturdy and the wood on the edges on the top and bottom helps it blend with our decor better than all metal or plastic crate. Latches and hinges all function smoothly. The only cons are the edges of the wood didn't line up precisely on the top (I doubt anyone but me will notice) and the wood is easy to scratch.Looks very nice in the living room. My wife was not happy with a ‘cage’ in the living room so this was a good compromise.Works as a crate should.For a puppy of a medium sized dog. Brittany Spaniel. Good size, plenty of growing room.Cheapest by far of the aesthetic looking crates but I think in general crates are dearer than they should be.I got mine on offer and with a free voucher so it worked out at <£90 so not too bad as a standard crate will run you £40-£60Crate training has been great but that is down to the dog and training.We use it as a ‘cot’ - just like a baby, a puppy has to be put down for naps. This works very well for that. She also sleeps all night in it, minus toilet breaks.The pup can chew the wood trim (as shown) but to be honest it’s not so bad. Plus it’s part n parcel of having a pup. Our pup is a proper chewer but she tends not to chew the crate.The whole thing seems strong enough. The doors are easy enough to open which is handy (some can be a pain to operate), if the dog figures it, I’ll add on my own latch but I think we’ll be fine.All in all, we are very happy with it. Defo recommend a crate that you are happy to keep somewhere the dog doesn’t feel lonely.She has been very good with toileting so I have no idea how good the tray is at keeping pee in, but it looks like it would do the same as any other crate. She was sick one night and the extra thickness of the wood trim did save the carpet?, a normal crate woulda let the sick come right through.I'm so happy with this purchase. I use it instead of a crate without the roof for my little chihuahua during the night. It is really well made, using nice looking materials and the wood colour goes perfectly with my antique wood floor and furniture. Perfect dimensions. I assembled the cage without the roof as I knew I would not neeed it and it is just looking amazing. Instructions come in Japanese but it is not a problem at all because the drawings are super clear. It took very little time and no pain at all for me to assemble everything. This is a fantastic value for money, I couldn't dream of a better design.I bought this crate recently because it looked more sturdy and the use of wood makes it look really good. This crate is excellent value for money. It looks even better in real life. I had looked at other crates in local pet stores, they were flimsy and rattled a lot. This crate is very solid thanks to the high quality metal and wood that is used. I would highly recommend this crate.this is broken cheap crap. for the money it should be solid. it is not suitable even for a bunny. and there should also be an instruction in English. for such a large amount of money, the cage should be strong, easy to install and not damaged.Lovely crate , nice for house like a piece of furniture , had small damage to wood. Contacted seller great response offered exchange or partly refunded .
